You never have to pay to use Reach. Contributing is entirely optional and unlocks nothing.
What your contribution funds.
Mechan8 is a software business in New Zealand. Contributions go towards the cost of building and running Reach:
- Development time — building the shell, the Game Vault, and new games.
- Accessibility testing — checking screens and games against real switch setups.
- Controller support — adding and verifying input methods.
- Hosting and distribution — serving downloads and game updates.
What you receive in return.
Nothing — and that is deliberate. Contributing does not unlock games, features, cosmetics, or early access, and it does not create an account or a subscription. Reach stays exactly the same for everyone, whether they contribute or not.
Mechan8 is a commercial software business, not a registered charity. Contributions are not charitable gifts, they are not tax-deductible, and we do not issue tax receipts.

Continue to Stripe Checkout to choose your own amount in New Zealand dollars (NZD) and pay securely. Minimum NZ$5. This is a single one-off payment in NZD — it is not a subscription, so there is nothing to cancel later.
Payments are handled by Stripe on their own secure, PCI-compliant checkout pages, served over HTTPS. Card details are entered on Stripe's pages — Mechan8 never sees or stores your card number. Visa, Mastercard, and American Express are accepted.
